MTS MTag 401 Smartphone Review
MTS MTag 401 phone is a new android mobile handset, released in the flooding smartphone market. The new phone is the fourth android launch from CDMA service provider which allows you to do net calls and comes with new bundled data. The company has also decided to give unlimited data usage and free MTS to MTS Calling for three months with the purchase of phone.
Design
When you’ll take the first glance on the phone, you’ll find it similar to most of the smartphones available in the market with typical bright black chassis and frame around the screen. But overall it appears comparatively expensive than what it really is, due to its looks.
The phone looks strong and sturdy enough to handle the regular wears and tears of your everyday life. The shiny black chassis of the phone holds its 4-inch capacitive touch screen which supports 233 ppi pixel density and comes with display resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
The phone comes with a textured back in unique illusionary design which makes it easy to grip. There are three capacitive buttons on the front panel just below its wide screen which includes three basic functions of Home, Menu and back.
Performance
In the much demanding phone market, users constantly look for updates and latest software. Still, the latest MTS smartphone is packed with Android V 2.3 (Gingerbread) which is one of the most popular Android OS, yet an older version of OS.
The performance of the phone can be accounted from its Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 Processor which clocks at 800MHz. with its 256 MB RAM (a disappointing factor), you cannot enjoy those swifter operations what higher smartphones offer but with its sub 9k budget, it’s reasonably fair.
With its 170MB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB using memory card, you can number of android applications and your other files including your images, videos or your favorite movies. The phone is already bundled with 2GB card with the box.
The phone is equipped with built in third party apps including Facebook, Saavn, Twitter, YouTube and MTS’ own bloatware which can let you access TV app allowing you to watch live TV, free of cost.
Camera
It seems MTS has done compromise in this particular department of the new phone. On the camera front, MTS MTag401 phone is integrated with decent camera of just 3 MP resolution but there’s no supporting flash.
Considering the quality, the camera doesn’t give good output in dim light however images are fair enough in bright day light.
Connectivity
MTS MTag 401 phone comes with standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and data connectivity of MTS which was smooth enough to give nice browsing and calling experience.
TV apps is also there to let you watch your favorite shows live but it bugs you many a times with its slow buffering speed. Don’t blame network provider or device for this; it’s an issue with Mobile TV content provider.
Battery
The phone comes with 1700mAh Battery which can give battery backup of 1 day but with continuous network or data connectivity usage, it may last only up to three to four hours.
