Acer Aspire A5 Ultrabook Review
Acer Aspire S5 laptop is a pinch-thin laptop that was released by the company at CES in January this year and finally it’s out on release after almost 6 months. The new ultrabook Series Acer Aspire 5 can be regarded as market’s thinnest laptop which comes with mere 11.2mm thickness and becomes just 0.6 inch when folded up.
Design
The new Acer Aspire S5 laptop is not typically designed in the rounded shaped construction and has avoided the wedge shape that most of the ultrabooks comes with. To thin out the structure of Aspire A5, the new laptop is given rounded corners with more density and lesser thickness on the whole.
Giving a tiff to its rival, Acer has made it thinner than Apple’s new MacBook Air 13-inch. The new notebook sports 13.3 inch LED Glossy screen which comes with 768 pixel resolution and supports 16:9 aspect ratio.
The black brushed aluminum finish envelopes the laptop giving a bright elegant look. The glossy plastic being used in most of the latest ultrabooks, is being avoided in this new Aspire device.
The laptop is instilled with well-spaced Backlit keyboard, needed for your late light working. There’s a smoothly operating optical pad which gives your navigation maneuvers an ease and allows smoother functioning.
Performance
The new Acer Aspire S5 laptop is built on Intel HM77 chipset with Ivy Bridge Processor instilled on it. Intel core i7-3517U processor is considered as the second fastest ultrabook processor from Intel which can work on a single-core with the clocking speed of 3.2GHz through Turbo Boost technology.
You can expect some impressive performance from Aspire S5 series as the system is packed with 128GB SSDs in striped RAID which works with fast Ivy Bridge processor of 1.9GHz base clock speed, efficiently.

Speaking about the convenience and flexibility, Acer Aspire S5 laptop has been included with number of ports and interfaces in the construction. Just next to the keyboard, there’s a button which opens and closes a trap door at the bottom of the laptop which houses all the ports and connections of the ultrabook.
There are 2 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port for letting you watch HD quality movie on your HD TV, Thunderbolt ports and adjustable ventilation at the back of the laptop for better cooling performance.
The laptop is also integrated with a webcam which lets you do video chatting. The laptop incorporates a card reader which allows you to insert SD/MMC memory cards for ease of data transfer.
