The lens offers image Stabilization with 4 stops of camera shake correction. The lens offers two-stage Image Stabilization with Dual Axis Camera shake correction and Vertical Axis shake correction for Panning shots.

With such heavy lens, it becomes difficult to get all the IS benefits. Still the 2 mode IS is especially helpful during handheld maneuvers; when you take quick shots with handheld operation or during high magnification zooming.

The lens offer great aperture range varying from f/5.6 (maximum) to f/32 (minimum). At the maximum aperture, lens doesn’t offer wide opening and also offers low light Autofocus. The lens offers superfast AF which gives you high end accuracy.

The lens is integrated with Ultra-Sonic Motor which makes sure whatever you capture, the subject doesn’t get its hint. There’s no focusing noise and also enables full time manual focusing through focus ring without any prior setting.
