The ‘Asha’ range of Family from Nokia is all set to welcome three new touch based phones. One of the stylish phones from the new range is Asha 306 Mobile which more or less appears like a smartphone with attractive features including full touchscreen, pull down notification bar at the top and touch based (pinch) zoom.

Design

It seems Nokia is striving hard to get back its lost mobile market by launching some of the low end mobile in attractive looks. The new Asha 306 Mobile is also an attractive design in metallic look which is given glossy colored finish in three colors – Blue, Black and Red.

The mobile features 3 inch TFT capacitive screen which supports screen resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The phone comes with approx. 155 pixels per inch density which delivers vibrant colorful content on the screen especially watching your favorite images or videos.

The phone is given a unique colorful touch at the top, bottom and the back panel of the mobile. The mobile is given glossy touch but it doesn’t hamper the grip of the phone as it is designed with curved edges to ensurecomfortable grip.

There are dedicated keys for Call end, Lock, Send/End and Volume Up/Down keys incorporated on the handset.

Performance

Nokia hasn’t introduced the new series for Android seekers but has simply targeted those mass audiences who’re looking for low end touch screen phone. The phone operates on SD40 Asha OS specifically designed for the Asha Series of Nokia.

The phone runs on 32MB RAM which might disappoints the users in the first go but for a phone like this which only undertakes basic mobile needs, this much RAM is enough. The preloaded Java games & 40 EA games which can be downloaded free of cost, offered by the phone can easily work without bugging you.

Nokia Asha 306 Mobile comes with number of interfaces and connectivity options. Nokia Asha 311 Mobile is considered to be the cheapest WLAN phone till date which offers Internet connectivity through its WLAN 802.11 b/g/n port.

The phone also lets you share and exchange important files and data using Bluetooth v2.1 or enable direct transferring to your PC using Micro USB connector. The High-Speed USB 2.0 acts as MicroUSB charger which supports battery charging for your phone.

New Nokia Asha 306 Mobile is integrated with decent 2MP camera which can capture image quality of 1600 x 1200 pixels. The rear camera can also boast video recording of 176 x 144 pixels at 10 frames per second.

The rear camera offers nice imaging features including Still Image Editor, Exposure Compensation, Self Timer,Landscape Orientation, Auto/Manual White Balance and Full screen Viewfinder. The phone isn’t instilled with any secondary snapper for enabling video calling or self-clicking.

You can plug in the headphones to 3.5mm AV connector for listening to your favorite songs or you can listen to FM Radio while you are travelling.
