Lamborghini launched a super luxury model of SUV car originated from crazed range of company’s own sports cars. ‘URUS’ is the newest takeoff from Lamborghini which is currently a concept car but is expected to hit the roads in coming years. Let’s find out more about it.

URUS is a powerful yet compact, muscular yet elegant SUV car in Lamborghini’s words. Designed in Italian design, URUS is intended to be the supercar of SUVs with its 600 horse power engine and can provide a sort of performance which can be expected from an Italian Bull. Notably, Lamborghini has been known for choosing its models names from Spanish fighting bulls and ‘URUS’ is also inspired from one of the extinct species of these bulls named Aurochs.

URUS is the second SUV from Lamborghini aimed to target with lightweight materials, modernized design and low height structure. Measuring 5.6 feet tall and 6.5 feet wide, URUS will sport racing red shimmering exterior that will offer an ideal contrast to the other carbon fiber made body parts. The 16.4 height is expected to be lower than its competitor including Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover Sport and BMW X5. One of the most interesting aspects of the SUV is the composition of forged carbon materials which provides it a lightweight and lifelike look. Lamborghini URUS is interior finished with Carbon fiber reinforced polymer with forged composite material being used to create all four seat buckets, interior structure and center tunnel. The interior of this 4×4 SUV is typically styled with four bucket seats in few cuts of leather and touchscreen LCD TFT display for guiding the driver placed just behind the steering wheel. The huge 24 inch wheels based in equally big rubber provides appropriate grip to this big sized yet compact SUV.

 

Lamborghini URUS will have a full time all-wheel drive system which can deliver the maximum speed of 180 mph. Despite high power output, Lamborghini claims that URUS delivers low CO2 emissions as compared to its competitors. The main key to its performance is its drive that is guided by the permanent all-wheel drive expected to target 440kW/ 600HP. The adaptive aerodynamics ensures balanced ground clearance, enhanced speed stability and proficiency with adjustable front and rear spoilers as per the driving conditions. Both the headlamps and the fog lamps are expected to have full LED light technology.  The Car also features very minimal operating philosophy – apart from steering wheel only shift paddles are there for dual clutch transmission, nullifying placement of other functions such as indicators, windshield wipers and lights which are inbuilt in multifunction steering wheel.
