LG Optimus VU LTE Mobile Review

Seems like a real competition for Samsung Galaxy Note has loomed in the market from LG. LG unveiled Optimus VUmobile with similar features. Yes! It has all those sketching, jotting, annotating features which Samsung Galaxy Noteoffers.

LG Optimus VU Mobile is designed with striking shape in a larger squarish form which is quite dissimilar to typical rectangular shapes what other smartphones offer.  VU is a light weight, slim bodied smartphone which is easy to hold despite its odd yet different shape. It comes with a width of just 8.5mm and weighs around 168gms.The outer plasticky feel is not a limitation but provide sturdy look to the overall body.  Optimus VU smartphone comes with a hidden stylus pen which is light, accurate and receptive. The stylus pen enables your sketching, annotating or your note jotting task easily with its responsive touch.

LG Optimus sports 5 inch capacitive touch screen of 1024×768 pixels resolution but an aspect ratio of 4:3. The odd aspect ratio of 4:3 is quite closer to the traditional paper journals looks and doesn’t hinder the brightness, clarity and detailing of the phone display. VU mobile handset is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz scorpion processor accompanied by 1GB DDR2 RAM. It offers an internal memory of 32 GB plus supports MicroSD Card slot upto 32GB.  Like any other recent smart phone, LG Optimus VU mobile is also empowered with Android OS V2.3.5 Gingerbread.Optimus VU mobile is 4G LTE prototype along with 2G CDMA 800/1900 and 3G CDMA2000 1xEV –DOHSPDA 2100.

LG Optimus VU mobile is equipped with 8MP rear facing camera and a secondary camera of 1.3 MP. The rear facing camera comes with a resolution of 3264×2448 pixels and is capable of recording high quality video of 1080p@ 30fps. The camera offers features including autofocus, face detection, LED flash, Image stabilization and Geo Tagging.  It sports true HD movie editor and comes with HDMI port.

LG’s latest offering Optimus VU mobile comes with 2080 mAh Lithium Ion- battery but that isn’t going to provide as much runtime as Samsung Galaxy Note offers.  One of the other drawbacks is its different shape which may become difficult to stuff in the average user’s pocket.  LG Optimus VU mobile is yet to release in India but the speculation over its expected price has already risen. It is expected to cost Rs31, 000 in India.
