Apple to launch iPad Mini by Christmas
Looks like Apple is ready to woo the tech aficionados across the world with its new Mini iPad Tablet. The company is gearing up by giving the final touch ups to the slate which is expected to be featuring less than 8 inches display and supposed to hit the market by December this year.
According to the sources, the software giant will be coming out with a smaller iPad around Christmas, featuring 7” screen size. Diagonally, the new mini tablet is going to have 7 to 8 inches of screen, reasonably smaller than 9.7inch, what it is currently offering.
The new tablet mini is most likely to be announced in the month of September or if not by that time, Apple will launch the iPad by Christmas holidays to make the most of the festival time benefit, just like what they did during iPhone 4S release.
The new iPAd mini 7” tablet is unlikely to come with new High Definition “retina display” screen but will support similar pixel resolution as iPad 2, The Telegraph claimed. That means, it’s definitely going to be cheaper than yet to release Apple iPad 3.
Currently, Apple is keeping a mum over the technical specifications and connected rumors of the manufacturing of the smaller tablet from the Far East as majority of Apple Devices are produced there. Several unnamed sources have been named under Apple’s supply chain by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
The plan to launch Apple Mini iPad came into being from the growing admiration of lower priced Android Tablet Kindle Fire which provides with better features than Apple tablet. Also, in competition with iPad Mini is the lately launched Google Nexus 7” tablet from Asus which proves a strong contender in the tablet market right now.
Contradictory to what late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs said, the company is ready to break the deeply-held maxim of Steve jobs by launching cheaper and smaller Tablet. In reference to launching smaller iPad Jobs said in 2010, “We don’t recommend making a seven inch tablet as we don’t want to hit lower price segment. At low price point, the screen becomes too minute to express the OS and applications.”
With the new launch, one thing is for sure; the smaller prototype and affordability of Mini iPad is going to give tough competition to Google’s Android OS tablets. It will also allow Apple to stay firmer in the tablet market where competitor will be actually able to do only a little bit about it.
