The recently unveiled camera is aimed for high quality video capture which works in compliance with continuous AF. The new EOS M camera with 22mm STM lens is expected to be priced approx. Rs.45K and the 18-55mm STM lens along will cost around Rs.16K. The camera will be available by October 2012.

Canon EOS M Camera Review

It is not bulkier, it is not light but it is just perfect to give you photography delight. That’s what perfectly describes thisnew mirrorless Canon EOS M camera which is slightly thicker than Canon S100 but offers matchless performance like professional model Rebel T4i. If you are amateur photographer, the camera is definitely designed for you, giving incredible versatility by lens interchangeability and larger sensor.
The new Imaging device from Canon is an awesome product that offers you easy controls, probably simplest in the mirrorless domain. Take a look on its exquisite design and you’ll find that the camera is an amalgamation of point-and-shoot archetype and menu inspired from Canon’s DSLRs. What’s most appealing is its striking appearance which is a visual treat for an eyes and what you get finally, it will make you fall for it. Images clicked are splendid especially macro shots and dim light captures.

Canon EOS M Camera Specifications

Canon EOS M Camera features 18MP APS-C-sized CMOS image sensor that house two lenses including EF-M 22mm f/2 STM kit lens and optional EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens; both the lenses can be fixed only on this particular camera format.
The design of the camera is quite nice; camera feels comfortable in hand, with due solidity and beauty with its glossy magnesium alloy coating on its outer cover. The touchscreen is also very responsive and display is reasonably crisp and colorful.
Canon has been lacking manual and physical controls in most mirrorless cameras. What’s different in EOS M Camera is that it features Hybrid AF image sensor autofocus system which considers 31 autofocus points on the sensor. As for the ISO, the range goes from 100-12800 with ISO expansion allows up to 25600, but disappointingly, Canon hasn’t included Image stabilization in the camera.
What disappoints even more is that, the camera isn’t incorporated with built in flash. You will need to attach Speedlight 90EX flash for adding light to the images. Canon EOS M Camera integrates single memory card slot and is compatible with SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards.
