Samsung Electronics unveiled its most anticipated and top-of-the-range Galaxy smartphone on Thursday, against the leading challenger Apple IPhone 4S. Samsung Galaxy S III is real finally, updated with a powerful processor and larger touch screen.

The new flagship Samsung Galaxy S III was unboxed in Company’ mobile unpacked event held in London on 3rd May, 2012. Samsung hasn’t announced the expected price of the phone during the unveiling. Only they could say was that “with Samsung S III we have given a valid successor to S II. Success of Samsung II proves that people want something different and Samsung S III is there to offer them a new level of mobile experience.”

The new Samsung Galaxy S III phone will sport 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The phone is 8.6mm at its thickest point with the weight of just 133gms. Inside the hood is Samsung’s own Exynos 4 Quad Processor which clocks at powerful 1.4GHz and a RAM of 1GB. Samsung’s quad-core microprocessor Exynos 4 is based on ARM Cortex A9 Technology which allows speedier and better tasking. For instance, video streaming can run on one core while the other cores can connect to the web for updating application or virus check and scan side by side.

Accompanied along is a standard 8 Megapixel camera at the back and a 1.9 MP camera at the front. The new Galaxy handset runs on most updated version of Google’s OS – Android Ice Cream Sandwich(4.0) and ensures that as far as the screen has an eye contact its doesn’t go dark.
Samsung’s has also incorporated S Voice Technology, equivalent to Apple’s Siri, by which a user can wake up their phone with just a simple voice command. Say “Hi Galaxy … picture” to open phone’s camera application or just say “Cheese” to take picture with it. You can use face recognition software to identify your Facebook friends using their images or just prompt the user to share pictures with them.

Meanwhile, Analysts says that the massive marketing campaign including the official smartphone partnership of London Olympics 2012 and the impressive features of the handset are enough to boost strong sales and shout for its quality. But its release has made consumers all over the world little unexcited. Samsung, which has recorded $5.2 billion quarterly profit in the first quarter has announced new smartphone sale to begin from May – June this year.
