Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 – World’s fastest Twin Kepler GPU Graphic Card

Nvidia GeForce GTX 690 Review

It’s that time of the year when all technology companies are supposed to drum up their maximum possible attention for the recent launch in the graphic cards world. Renowned video card companies NVidia made the biggest launch with their new Graphics processing unit – NVidia GeForce GTX 690.
While announcing about the latest launch, NVidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang announced that GeForce GTX 690 had been “crafted to deliver speediest performance than any graphics card till date. The card had been designed with special attention to each minute detail to assure highest thermals, best acoustics and finest electrical performance through this specific design.”
NVidia GeForce GTX 690 is slapped a cost of approx. $1,000 with the limited availability- only in thousands starting from May 3. From May 7, the Company seeks to move to a broader distribution to Nvidia’s loyal card partners including ASUS, MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte and Gainward.

What’s New

NVidia GeForce GTX 690 is going to use dual GPUs following the trend of GTX 590 which was released last year. The newest GTX version will operate on new 28nm Kepler architecture becoming the fastest single-board graphics card, till AMD’s dual-GPU Radeon 79XX release. This GPU is, thus, will be considered running two GeForce GTX 680s in SLI, including 3072 cores clocking at 915MHz which can be increased to 1,019MHz. The new Graphics card comes with thermal design power of 300W on board and includes 512-bit GDDR5 memory of 4GB which is twice as that of company’s last offering GTX 680.  The Card also supports features like GPU boost as in GTX 690 which enhances the overall speed and performance.
NVidia officials claim that GTX 690 will perform almost double the value of its single GPU GTX 680 with range of games. NVidia newest Graphics unit is designed on exterior frame of trivalent chromium plated aluminum which assures robustness and strength to the design. Alongside, Nvidia has confirmed quality in its announcement about the heat sink and fan cooling factors. Spending most of its time discussing on the heating matter, NVidia confirmed that the new GeForce GTX unit will incorporate two vapor chambers with nickel-plated heat sink and the housing fan made of thixomolded magnesium alloy for enhanced heat disposal. Company has hinted over the highly efficient power requirement of dual 8 pin power connectors for the unit.
